Hussain Mohammad Jawad Marafie

1935 – 1986

Born in Alwassat neighbourhood in the year 1935, Hussain Mohammad Jawad Marafie worked as a Store In charge in the Ministry of Health.  He won the National Assembly elections for the year 1980 representing Sharq area.

Hussain Marafie took over his father’s business establishments after his death. He established Contingency Fund in the Marafie family inviting each family member’s direct participation by their monthly contribution. This very fund turned instrumental during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990 when each individual in the family and their relatives were given a monthly amount of KD200/- despite the hard hit economic crisis endured by the Kuwaitis.
