Johar Faraj Marafie
1876 – 1968
Born in Kuwait in the year 1876 and grew as a close
companion of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem; he was assigned to
chair as General Manager to Mohammad Ali Marafie's business
concerns and that of the Diwan as well. He meticulously
managed the daily feast of Ramadan for the people from all
walks of life, a practice that carried out until the demise
of Ismael Marafie.
Among the numerous tasks, certain noteworthy functions he
successfully handled were: He was the sole to possess the
key to the main safe which often contained hundred of
thousands rupees and also that to the Arms Storage. He
supervised and scrutinised arms delivery to Sheikh Mubarak
during the battle of Sireef. Johar was the childhood
friend of Shaikh Abdullah Salem.
